If a user has forgotten their password, you will not be able to tell them what it is.  Passwords are always masked by asterisks.  However, you have two ways to help them reset their password:

  1. You can give them a temporary password and require them to enter a new one the next time the log in.
  2. You can enter their desired password and allow them to simply continue using the system.

Follow the steps in Finding User Account Names to locate a user’s account.  Click the name of the user (bolded blue text) to edit their details in the “Edit User Info” window.  Here, you can edit a variety of information, including the password, which must be at least 6 characters long.

Always remember to click the ‘Save’ button at the bottom of this page if you make any changes!  You will have to scroll to the bottom of the page to see it.

The password must be entered twice to confirm you entered it properly.

If you are giving the user a temporary password, you must also specify that they have to reset it the next time they log in.  This option is at the bottom of the window.

Mark  the “Force Password Reset on Login” checkbox.  When the user logs in with the temporary password, they will be required to specify a new password of their choosing.
