Reviewing eTraining Usage

The eTraining Usage section allows you to view the number of hours spent in in the eTraining.  You can compare your locations or regions to each other to get an understanding of how each site is making use of the system.  And, the Usage by Section view allows you to see where in the training that learners are spending the most amount of time.

Usage By Location

Usage by Location provides a summary of the total hours spent by learners reviewing the eTraining content within the date range specified.  This view can help you shed light on how locations are approaching their education. Specifically, whether they are taking advantage of the eTraining materials to help their performance on the competency evaluations.

A high number of takes to pass an evaluation is often correlated to not making use of the eTraining material, and can point to users challenging the evaluations before reviewing the learning material.  As is the case with other views, if more than one region is selected the chart will compare regions to each other. If only one region is selected, the individual locations in that region will be compared.

The hours reported should be used as an approximation of eTraining usage and not an exact number. In addition to small inaccuracies in measuring internet based page usage, you should also consider that these views do not tell you how much actual time learners spend reviewing the material on a certain page vs. having it open in the background while doing other work.  Use these metrics as comparative measures, and understand they should be used with competency evaluation results to get a better sense of the whole picture.

Usage By Section

Usage by Section provides a summary of the total hours spent by learners reviewing each section of the eTraining content.  This view summarizes the total hours of usage across all of the locations selected in the filter area.

This view can tell you whether locations or regions are taking advantage of the eTraining materials to help their performance on the competency evaluations.  Specifically, you can view usage of certain sections of the eTraining to determine the correlation to performance on related competency evaluations.  A high number of takes to pass evaluations is often correlated to not making use of the eTraining material and can point to learners challenging the evaluations instead of using the learning material first.
