Exploring Your Education Dashboard

When you open the Education Dashboard, you will see the Home Page which provides several useful charts which give you a quick snapshot of the usage of your eTraining, the evaluation activity and a quick look at competency issues.  Click any of these charts to get more detailed information on the issues that stand out.

Many of the reports are available to be downloaded in spreadsheet format for further analysis.  Look for the ‘Download Data’ link to see if a particular report supports this:

The data is available to be downloaded in two formats: ‘Raw Data’ and ‘Formatted Excel Data’.  The raw data is in CSV format (comma-separated values) which can be opened in a spreadsheet or other data analysis tools.  The formatted Excel data is an XLSX file enhanced with special formatting  to highlight key pieces of information on your report.

Competency Issue Summary

Competency issues are defined here as any evaluation questions where 30% or more of responses were marked as incorrect.  The Competency Issue Summary shows the number of competency issues grouped by RAI Domain. For example, competency issues that relate to RUG knowledge will be charted on the RUG Domain, and so on.  This view allows you to break down competency issues into groups, helping you prioritize where to start to investigate possible opportunities for remedial education.

By clicking on the bars of the chart (the domains) you will be taken to the Competency Issues view, where each of the specific competency issues is listed in order of magnitude. Clicking the ALL bar will open the Competency Issues view without filtering the list to any RAI domain.

Evaluation Summary

The Evaluation Activity graph shows the number of evaluation takes over the last 12 months.  Select from the various views available in the navigation panel under Evaluation Performance to review the results of these evaluations in detail.

Below the chart are two summary values:

Evaluation Takes:   includes all evaluation takes, including multiple retakes.

CE Hours Earned:  an estimate of the Continuing Education (CE) credit hours earned, based on the evaluations completed and the approvals of professional associations who govern continuing education credits.  This is estimated, because the actual number is dependent on the number of professional bodies each learner reports these credit hours to.

eTraining Usage Summary

These views provide a summary of eTraining usage from two perspectives; time and module.  The scale represented is the total number of hours of usage.  It combines the usage of all the locations you have reporting rights to in AIS Central.

  • The eTraining Hours by Month chart displays all the modules usage combined over the past 12 months.
  • The eTraining Hours by Module chart shows the total usage of each eTraining module.
