The Curriculum Management functionality is a key component of the Courseware and allows educators to create curricula (groups of related courses) for various disciplines within their organization. AIS has established a recommended curriculum for most clinical positions within a SNF; however, these are easily customized by each organization based on their job titles and policies. The customization is ideally completed during the pre-implementation phase so that the Curriculum Management System can provide a quick update of progress.

Learning Matrix

The Curriculum Management System is developed from the Learning Matrix, which is a spreadsheet that AIS has designed to help you develop the curriculum requirements for each of your disciplines. It is an outline of each course module, including the time for completion of content and tests. AIS will help key corporate personal to complete the Learning Matrix for the facility, regional, and corporate staff. The Learning Matrix includes:

  • Disciplines assigned

  • Sections assigned to each discipline

  • Start date for each training path

  • Timeframe for completion of each section and module

The Learning Matrix contains the following tabs:

  • Tab 1: Identify Job Titles unique to the organization. Generic Titles are provided as a guide. Once completed, each learner is assigned to a job title.

  • Tab 2: The matrix will be set up by job title and will include the module requirements.

  • Tab 3: New Implementation: The new implementation schedule depends on the start date. The default schedule is for a 30-day implementation, but can be adjusted for a 45-day or 60-day implementation.

  • Tab 4: Annual Refresh: The schedule for the annual refresher training depends on the identified renewal date (recommended to start January or February each year). The default schedule is for the refresher training to be completed within 30 days. New hires within the past 90 days would be exempt from refresher training in the first year, since they will have taken the course content from the most recent updates. All other employees will take new content following updates and test refresh. Each employee can follow the schedule based on the course content identified by their job title. It is recommended that refresher training not be initiated until the annual test refresh is completed by AIS.

  • Tab 5: New Employees: The schedule for new employee training will depend on the start date. The default schedule is for the new employee training to be completed within 5 weeks. This can be adjusted for 6 weeks or 8 weeks. Each employee can follow the schedule based on the course content identified by their job title.

The Learning Matrix is completed during the initial planning phase. Once completed, AIS uses the matrix to set up current employees in the Curriculum Management system. As new employees are hired and job transfers occur, the employees will be set up (or modified) with the appropriate job category to allow their progress to be tracked in the system.

Follow Up of Course Completion

All course completion can be managed through AIS Central providing a quick, efficient way to monitor progress. Learners can self-monitor, and educators can monitor either individuals or groups

Curriculum Management

  • Learners: Can receive a list of required courses, due dates, and progress toward completion

  • Educators:

Can receive a list of learners who have/have not yet completed the required items.

Can receive Recommended Schedule of Course Completion report for follow up.

Can monitor progress to completion in required courses for identified users.

Results of Evaluations

Provides an overview of each evaluation attempt, including Date, Grade and Level of Completion. The detailed report can be sent to managers as the coursework is monitored.

  • Learners: Can review their progress in all course work

  • Educators:

Can filter by Location, Evaluation, and or Date Range

Can run the report for an individual learner

If the report is downloaded to Excel, spreadsheet features such as Sorting/Filtering can be used.

This report is used to follow up on test scores, number of takes, and completion.
